How this all began.

As a kid I learned the word entrepreneur and decided that was the only thing I wanted to be. I still am. Investor is the word that is even more natural to me: my instincts, my temperament, how I see the world.

Along the way I got a degree in finance, built a business, sold it, went back to business school, worked at an investment bank, and ended up doing what I do now; corporate finance while investing my own money on the side.

By the time I decided to start documenting publicly, the investable portfolio was at $1.6M. That's where the public record starts. The journey started at $0, years earlier, and the gap between those two numbers is why I know the path is real.

Publishing in public keeps me on my toes. I underwrite more carefully knowing it is out there. It has also opened doors that never would have existed with a private spreadsheet: an audience, a network, deals I would not have seen otherwise.
